    Erosion Fractal

The Only Planetary Terrain System for Blender

    Terracing

    Terrain Fractals

Render environments with a full-scale spherical atmosphere and an advanced fractal cloud system.

    Atmosphere & Clouds

You get full control of the displacement through geometry nodes and PlanetSet comes with many preset node groups to help you get your desired landscape.

Scatter millions of objects with precise control over the terrain:

    • Clumping
    • Altitude falloff
    • Altitude limits
    • Size variation
    • Slope distribution
    • Normal alignment
    • Frustum Culling

Other terrain solutions for Blender create small square patches of terrain, however PlanetSet operates on a 1:1 scale terrain surface that extends in all directions to the horizon.

At the core of PlanetSet is a micro-polygon terrain system (unrelated to Cycles adaptive subdivision) that adaptively tessellates the terrain. Resultantly, you can render extreme details pretty much from anywhere: the ground, in the sky or the even from the edge of space.

    Import Heightmaps

Add erosion to terrain features practically infinitely into the distance. The erosion fractal is purely procedural with no simulation required.

Create detailed terrain as close as centimetres all the way to the horizon…

Build photorealistic environments with real scale atmosphere and terrain.

Displace huge landscapes using fractal noises in geometry nodes.

Create rock strata and layered terrain.

    • Control terrace quantity
    • Sub terraces
    • Slope control

Import heightmaps from another terrain software or satellite data.

    • Position & rotate
    • Blending
    • Altitude control

    Before Buying…

PlanetSet is for Cycles rendering only. It is not designed to work with Eevee.

PlanetSet works with CPU and GPU Cycles rendering.

Cloud shaders are computationally demanding, even on high-spec GPUs, and this is largely unavoidable for photorealistic clouds. PlanetSet has preview settings available to make things faster while working in the viewport.

PlanetSet is under active development and future updates are free!

    Recommended Specs

PlanetSet implements a spherical atmosphere and cloud system with physically correct volumetric shaders simulating Rayleigh and Mie scattering.

PlanetSet’s fractal cloud shaders are capable of producing a wide variation of realistic cumulus, stratus and cirrus clouds. Cloud domains can be many kilometres wide or tall, following the planet’s curvature over the horizon.

    Population Layers

Organise populations and easily control their parameters.

    Water Bodies

PlanetSet’s oceans are rendered all the way to the horizon and support custom micropolygon displacement.

PlanetSet’s water shader uses a custom noise implementation that correctly renders water ripples in the far distance.

There is also support for custom water body geometry, for lakes, rivers, ponds, etc.
