Flared (Standard and XT) is an add-on for Blender that generates lens flares. Simple easy to use: add your lens flares with a few clicks and fine tune them with the visual controls. As easy as powerful. It is based on 3D elements and procedural textures, so it’s resolution independent. It is completely real time: you can see the flares in the viewport and you don’t need to use the compositor. Flared is not screen space based, so it works also when the light sources are out of the screen space. You can create as much flares as you want, there’s no limit (it depends only on your hardware). Lens flares work both with Eevee and Cycles.

So you can have a direct preview of the final result  without the need to use the compositor.

Flared it’s not a physical simulation of the light path through the lens, it’s a powerful artistic instrument , highly customizable (you can save your presets and use them in other scenes).

You can add several flares with just one click, choosing from different templates.

Flared can setup and add lens dirt too.

There is a function to auto detect Obstacles behind the camera and the flares. You can automatically manage how fast the flare disappears behind obstacles.

Flared can be used both with CGI scenes and video footage (it’s possible to link the flare to an empty created with the motion tracking skills of Blender).

You can even add a Sun where it’s missing!
